Scotty's Convention in St. Louis is the Mekka for all Steel Guitar Enthusiasts. It is a big four day party with tons of outstanding music, the chance to meet old friends and make new friends. I have been traveling around the world to be there every year since 1998 and will continue - it has become some sort of addicition to me!
It is always good to have a camera with you, because you might run into some special situations and meetings that are worth being documented! Here are some examples:
Walter Stettner and Dewitt "Scotty" Scott (1998)
Sarah Jory sets a new world record for changing a broken string (with a little help from Scotty!) (2003)
John Hughey practicing before his set (2001)
Tommy White, Lloyd Green and Hal Rugg listen to John Hughey (and try to make him nervous!) (2001)
You stand in line at the breakfast buffet and who is right behind you? Weldon Myrick! (2001)
The crowd in front of the stage (each year!)
Sometimes the "crowd" in front of the stage consists of the legends - Lloyd Green and Robby Turner! (1998)
Fiddler David Russell almost killing the "Big E" (2002)
After a long night in front of the stage...(2002)
Shopping for a new Dobro? Mike Auldridge! (2003) (NEW)
Little girls like Fiddles better than Steel Guitars! (2003) (NEW)
